Reservations Policy

(1)  Making a reservation: 
To make a reservation, please fill out the booking form on our website or email us at bookings@penichesurfcamp.com.
We will reply within 24 hours with all the necessary information and deposit details.
Availability is held for 48 hours after the payment request is sent.

(2) Payment Terms: 
A deposit is required to confirm your booking.
The remaining balance must be paid before arrival or at check-in.

(3) Booking Confirmation:
Your reservation is only confirmed once the deposit payment has been received.
After payment, you will receive a confirmation email with further details.
Please send us the proof of payment to ensure a smooth and quick confirmation.

(4) Changes to Bookings:
If you wish to modify your booking after confirmation (e.g. dates, number of guests, names), we will do our best to assist.
However, changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Additional charges or cancellation fees may apply.

(5) Animals and Pets:
Pets are only allowed in selected private accommodations and must be approved by Peniche Surf Camp prior to arrival.
An additional fee of €10 per night, per animal applies.
- Pets must be kept on a leash at all times while in the common areas of the Peniche Surf Camp property.
- Guests are fully responsible for supervising their pets and for cleaning up after them, or an extra cleaning fee will apply. 
- Guests are liable for any damage, disturbance, or additional cleaning costs caused by their pets.

After the transfer has been completed, please send us the official bank receipt or a screenshot of the transaction by email as proof of payment. Although we request proof of payment, your booking will only be confirmed once the funds have been received in our account.
Please note that any bank charges or international transfer fees are the responsibility of the client.

Revolut
Payments can also be made via Revolut.
A 2% processing fee will be added to the amount paid by this method.

PayPal
Payments can also be made via PayPal.
A 5% processing fee will be added to the amount paid by this method.

Credit card / Apple Pay / Google Pay
A 2% processing fee will be added to the amount paid by this method.

Cancellation policy

Once your booking has been confirmed, cancellations will be handled according to the following terms:

Individual Bookings
a) More than 30 days before arrival:
The deposit will be refunded, minus any bank transfer fees, payment processing fees, or administrative costs incurred.

b) Between 30 and 15 days before arrival:
50% of the deposit will be retained.

c) Less than 15 days before arrival:
The deposit is non-refundable.

After Arrival
No refunds will be made after check-in or during the stay, regardless of the reason for departure.
This includes, but is not limited to:

• Late arrivals
• Early departures
• Missed surf lessons
• Unused accommodation nights
• Unused meals
• Unused transfers
• Any other unused services

No-Shows
Guests who fail to arrive on the scheduled arrival date without prior notice will be considered a no-show and will not be entitled to any refund.

Exceptional Circumstances
Requests for exceptions due to serious illness, injury, or other exceptional circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to request supporting documentation before making any decision regarding a refund or booking amendment.

Group Bookings
Group bookings may be subject to specific cancellation terms, which will be detailed in the corresponding quotation, agreement, or booking confirmation.

Transfer policy

If you have booked a transfer to or from Lisbon Airport or any other location in the country, the following policy applies:

a) Booking Confirmation
Transfers must be requested by the client at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to confirmation by Peniche Surf Camp.

b) Cancellation Policy
Transfer cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled transfer are non-refundable and Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to charge up to 100% of the transfer cost.

c) Airport Waiting Time
After the aircraft has landed, clients have one hour to exit the airport and reach the designated meeting point.
An additional fee of €10 will be charged for every extra 30 minutes of waiting time beyond this period.

d) Alternative Drop-Off Locations
Transfers to or from locations other than Lisbon Airport, such as Lisbon city centre, are subject to an additional charge of €20.

e) Flight Delays
If your flight is delayed, please inform Peniche Surf Camp as soon as possible.
If the client fails to inform Peniche Surf Camp of a flight delay and the driver is required to wait, an additional charge of €10 per extra 30 minutes may apply.

f) Meeting Point
The driver will wait for guests in the arrivals area of Lisbon Airport, either in the designated travel agency meeting area or in front of Starbucks Coffee.
Upon arrival, the driver will send a WhatsApp message confirming the exact meeting location.

g) Identification
Clients may be asked to present their booking confirmation to the driver before boarding the vehicle.

h) Behaviour Policy
The driver reserves the right to refuse transport to any client displaying aggressive behaviour, severe intoxication, or conduct that may compromise the safety or comfort of other passengers.
In such cases, Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to charge 100% of the transfer cost.

i) Passenger and Luggage Information
Transfers may be refused, with the full transfer cost charged, if:

• The number of passengers differs from the original booking.
• The destination differs from the confirmed booking.
• Excessive luggage is carried without prior notice.
• Surfboards are brought without prior notice.

Guests travelling with surfboards are required to declare them at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in the transfer being refused or additional charges being applied. Transfer rates may vary according to the size and number of surfboards being transported.
The standard luggage allowance is 30 kg per person.

j) Contact Information
Clients must provide a valid mobile phone number that will be active and reachable in Portugal.

k) Circumstances Beyond Our Control
Peniche Surf Camp shall not be held responsible for delays caused by traffic congestion, accidents, adverse weather conditions, road closures, strikes, flight disruptions, or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
In such situations, Peniche Surf Camp will not reimburse alternative transportation arranged independently by the client, including taxis, buses, trains, ride-sharing services, or other transport providers.

l) Shared Transfers
Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to combine transfers from different bookings when arrival or departure times are compatible.
Clients acknowledge and accept that reasonable waiting times may occur in order to accommodate shared transfer services.

Accommodation policy

Check-In & Check-Out

• Check-in is available from 16:00 onwards.
• Check-out must be completed by 11:00.
• Late check-out may result in an additional night's charge.
• Early check-in or late check-out requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
• Check-in outside standard hours may be possible if arrival details are provided in advance.

Key Deposit

• A €10 cash deposit per key is required at check-in.
• The deposit will be refunded upon return of the complete key set, including the key tag/key holder, at check-out.
• Lost, damaged, or incomplete key sets may result in the loss of the deposit and additional replacement charges.
• Groups requesting multiple keys may be required to provide an additional deposit for each extra key.

Payments

• All accommodation and additional services must be paid before or upon arrival unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• We accept most major credit and debit cards (excluding American Express).
• Peniche Surf Camp cannot be held responsible for temporary technical failures of payment terminals or banking systems.

Housekeeping & Linen

Shared Accommodation

• Daily housekeeping of common areas is provided.
• Beds are not made and rooms are not cleaned during the guest's stay.

Private Accommodation

• Accommodation units are cleaned before arrival and after departure.
• Regular housekeeping is not included during the stay.

Additional Cleaning

• Guests requesting extra cleaning services during their stay may do so subject to availability.
• Additional cleaning is charged at €15 per person per hour.

Linen Change

• For stays of 10 nights or longer, bed linen will be changed once per week.
• Additional linen changes may be requested for an extra charge.

Liability & Personal Belongings

• Guests are fully responsible for their personal belongings at all times.
• Peniche Surf Camp accepts no responsibility for theft, loss, or damage to personal belongings, surf equipment, vehicles, or other valuables.
• We strongly recommend using the available safes whenever possible.
• Surf equipment should not be left outside overnight.

Damage to Property

• Guests are expected to treat all facilities, furniture, equipment, and accommodation units with care and respect.
• Any damage caused intentionally, through negligence, or through misuse may be charged to the guest.
• Any damage or maintenance issue should be reported to reception immediately.

Shared Accommodation Rules

• Clean all dishes, cooking utensils, and kitchen areas immediately after use.
• Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to charge an additional cleaning fee if kitchen facilities are left excessively dirty.
• Please respect all guests and staff members.
• Quiet hours begin at 23:00, by law
• External toilets and shared facilities may also be used when available.
• Do not dispose of toilet paper, sanitary products, wipes, or any other objects in the toilet. Please use the bins provided.
• Always lock your room when leaving.
• Store valuables securely.
• Return keys upon departure.

Private Accommodation Rules

• Guests staying in private accommodation may use the common outdoor areas next to reception unless otherwise indicated.
• Please respect neighbouring residents and other guests at all times.
• Quiet hours begin at 23:00, by law.
• If you run out of hot water, please contact reception so that we can replace the gas bottle when applicable.
• The accommodation must be left in a reasonable condition upon departure.
• Excessive dirtiness, rubbish, stains, or abnormal cleaning requirements may result in additional cleaning charges.
• Always lock the accommodation when leaving.

Pets

• Pets are only permitted in designated private accommodation units and must be approved in advance by Peniche Surf Camp.
• Additional pet fees may apply.
• Guests are fully responsible for their pets and any damage or disturbance caused.

Right to Refuse Accommodation

• Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to refuse accommodation or terminate a stay without refund if a guest:
• Causes serious disturbance to other guests or staff.
• Violates safety rules.
• Causes damage to property.
• Engages in illegal activities.
• Acts aggressively, abusively, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs in a manner that affects other guests or staff.

Surf Classes Policy

Class Schedule
Please respect the scheduled surf class times. Peniche Surf Camp is unable to provide exceptions or alternative schedules outside the regular surf class timetable.

Consecutive Days
Surf classes are scheduled on consecutive days starting from the first booked date unless otherwise agreed in advance by Peniche Surf Camp.
If, after starting your surf course, you wish to skip a session, you must inform reception at least 24 hours in advance. Requests made with less notice cannot be guaranteed.

No-Show Policy
If you are scheduled for a surf class and do not attend, no refund, credit, or replacement lesson will be provided.

Weather and Ocean Conditions
Surfing is an outdoor activity that depends on weather and ocean conditions.
In rare situations where conditions make surfing unsafe or impractical (including, but not limited to, flat conditions, excessive wave size, strong winds, fog, dangerous currents, or other environmental factors), Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to modify, postpone, relocate, or replace the activity.
Refunds will not be provided in these circumstances. Whenever possible, an alternative surf-related activity, such as a theory lesson, video analysis session, or surf trip, may be offered.

Safety
Clients must strictly follow the instructions of their instructors at all times and comply with all safety guidelines.
Any injury, discomfort, medical issue, or incident occurring during a lesson must be reported immediately to the instructor.
Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to refuse participation or remove any participant from a lesson if their behaviour compromises their own safety, the safety of others, or the proper functioning of the class.

Alcohol and Drugs
For safety reasons, Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to refuse participation in surf lessons to any guest who appears to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that may impair judgement, coordination, or physical ability.
No refund, credit, or replacement lesson will be provided in such circumstances.

Equipment
Surf equipment is included only during scheduled lesson times.
You are responsible for the equipment provided during your lessons and must use it with reasonable care. Any loss or damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or failure to follow instructor guidelines may be charged accordingly.

Attendance and Preparation
Please arrive on time for all surf lessons.
In addition to your personal belongings, please bring swimwear to wear underneath your wetsuit. Sun protection is strongly recommended.
If you are attending two surf lessons in one day, we recommend bringing food and water to consume during the break between sessions.

Video Analysis
Video analysis sessions may be offered to students who book a minimum of 5 days of surf lessons (10 sessions).
Video analysis sessions are subject to weather conditions, ocean conditions, instructor availability, operational requirements, and filming opportunities.
Peniche Surf Camp does not guarantee that video analysis will be available during every surf course.
If a video analysis session is scheduled and a student misses a surf lesson or does not attend the scheduled session, no replacement video analysis session will be provided.

Operational Changes
Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to change instructors, lesson times, lesson locations, class group compositions, vehicles, equipment, and teaching methods whenever necessary due to operational requirements, weather conditions, tides, safety considerations, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Third-Party Providers
All surf lessons are organized and managed directly by Peniche Surf Camp. In certain circumstances, Peniche Surf Camp may collaborate with qualified instructors, coaches, transport providers, or other professional service providers when necessary to ensure the delivery of services.

Surfboard & Wetsuit Rental Policy

All rental equipment is inspected by Peniche Surf Camp staff before each rental period to ensure that it is in good condition and fit for use.
By renting equipment from Peniche Surf Camp, the client acknowledges and accepts the following terms and conditions.

1. Responsibility for Rental Equipment

The client is fully responsible for the rented equipment throughout the rental period. Any damage, loss, theft, or abnormal wear may result in repair or replacement charges.

2. Identification Requirement

A valid passport or official identification document must be presented before rental equipment can be issued.

3. Rental Hours

Winter: 08:00–18:00 | Summer: 08:00–20:00.
Late returns may be subject to additional charges.

4. Daily Return and Cleaning

Equipment must normally be returned daily, cleaned and rinsed with fresh water.

5. Equipment Storage Overnight

A refundable €250 security deposit may be required for overnight storage outside PSC facilities.

6. Damage to Equipment

Clients must immediately report any damage, breakage, cracks, dings, broken fins, leash damage, or other issues.

7. Loss or Theft

The client is responsible for the replacement cost of lost or stolen equipment.

8. Surf Conditions and Personal Responsibility

Clients are responsible for assessing whether surf conditions are suitable for their level.

9. No Refunds and Rental Interruptions

Once equipment has been collected, no refunds, credits, or partial refunds will be granted for unused rental time, including bad weather, flat surf, injury, illness, early return, late arrival, travel disruptions, or personal reasons.
Peniche Surf Camp cannot guarantee specific surf, weather, wind, tide, ocean, or beach conditions.

10. Transport of Equipment

Equipment transported by vehicle must be properly secured.

11. Refusal of Rental

Peniche Surf Camp may refuse rental to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, acting unsafely, or failing to comply with these conditions.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By collecting and using rental equipment, the client accepts these rental conditions.

13. Equipment Inspection Upon Return

Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to inspect all equipment upon return and determine whether repair, cleaning, replacement, or compensation charges apply.
