Reservations Policy

(1)  Making a reservation: After we receive your booking request we shall contact you in less than 24 hours. We will provide all the info you may need and ask you for a deposit payment. After we send you the request for booking payment we can only guarantee availability for the next 48 Hours.

a) The booking payment should be made 24 hours before arrival. The total payment should be made before arrival or at the check in.

b)   Animals and pets: dogs or other pets are allowed only in private accommodation. There is an extra charge for pets of 10 EUR per night per animal. Client must have pets on a leash inside the Peniche Surf Camp property. Clients are responsible for cleaning or any damage that their pets might cause.

(2) Confirmation: After deposit payment you will receive a confirmation e-mail and further instructions. We only guarantee your place after you pay the deposit. Please note that we need to know that you have have done the deposit payment by sending us the proof of payment.

(3) If you wish to change your booking after it has been confirmed e.g. guest names, date changes, etc, we will try to assist but cannot guarantee to meet such requests. Cancellation charges may apply.

After the transfer is done, it is required that you send us, by fax or email, the official receipt or screen shot as proof of the transfer otherwise we cannot confirm the booking. Please note that your bank may charge a commission for international transaction. If so, this commission is the client responsibility.

Cancellation policy

After confirmation is made (as explained above) we will accept the cancellation under the following terms: 

a) Until one month prior to arrival we will refund the total of the deposit.
b) Until two weeks prior to arrival we will charge 50 % of the deposit.
c) Until one week prior to arrival we will not make any refund.

d) Upon arrival and during your stay we will not make any refund except in the case of serious illness or injury.

Transfer policy

In the case that you have booked the transfer from Lisbon airport to Peniche Surf Camp (PSC):

a) The transfer must be booked 24 hours in advanced and confirmed by Peniche Surf Camp.

b) The cancellation of the transfer must be done until 24 hours before arrival. If otherwise we will not refund transfer money.

c) Once the plane lands the client has one hour to exit the airport door. For every extra half hour after this the client will be charged an extra 10 EUR.

d) To drop off clients somewhere other than Lisbon airport, for example down town Lisbon, there will be an additional charge of 20 EUR.

e) If the plane is delayed please inform the Surf Camp as soon as possible. In the case client does not inform and plane is delayed, clients will be charged an extra 10 EUR for each half an hour delayed.

f) PSC driver will wait for you at the arrival hall of the Lisbon airport in the area reserved for the travel representatives,

g) The clients are required to show the confirmation of the reservation to the PSC driver,

h) The transfer can be refused by driver in the case of drunkenness, intoxication or aggressive behavior of the clients. If so, Peniche Surf Camp has the right to charge 100% of the transfer price.

i) The transfer can be refused with a charge of the full price in the case of the overweight baggage if not announced in advance (the allowed weight of the baggage is 30 kg per person), incorrect booking regarding the number of passengers or the final destination.

j) The client is required to provide the telephone number contactable in Portugal. In the case of delay caused by the traffic, weather conditions or any other factors which could not be influenced by Peniche Surf Camp, Peniche Surf Camp does not take any responsibility. Peniche Surf Camp does not refund any alternative transfer taken by clients (namely taxi or bus). 

Accommodation policy

Check-In is after 16:00 and Check-Out is until 11:00 (if you stay after 11:00 you will be charged an extra night).

Beside the hours mentioned above, Check-In is possible at anytime if the client provides the date and hour of the arrival.  

It will be asked a 10 EUR deposit for key, which will be returned to you in the end of your stay.

Pay your bill before or at arrival. We accept credit (except American Express) card but be aware, that sometimes they don’t function.

PSC is not responsible for any robbery or theft that occurs in or from its property.

PSC recommends you to put your personal belongings in the safe. We also recommend not to leave surf equipment outside during night time. PSC do not take any responsibility of the client’s personal belongings during their stay, wherever they are placed. The Client is fully responsible for his or her personal belongings.

Inform the reception if any damage to the structure  or objects of the Peniche surf camp.

Do not damage any structure or object of the Peniche surf camp.

For those in Shared Accommodation:

  • Clean your dishes etc in the common kitchen after use;
  • You may also use the external toilets;
  • Do not throw toilet paper in the toilet (as it clogs up the drains really easy) please place in the bin provided there for that purpose;
  • No noise after 23:00 hours;
  • Respect your roommates;
  • Always return your room/ house key;
  • Put personal belongings in the safe;
  • Lock your room.

For those in Private accommodation:

  • The external area next to the reception is for you to use even if you are accommodated outside the main surf camp structure.
  • If you run out of hot water please inform the reception. We will change the gas bottle;
  • Respect your neighbors. You are not alone;
  •  You should leave the house in good condition before you leave otherwise you may be charged extra for cleaning services.
  • Always lock your house.

We request a deposit of 10 eur per accommodation key given during check in, that we will return when you check out provided the client returns the accommodation key given to them upon arrival. For the groups that request more than one key per person, we will request a extra deposit for each key given.

Class Schedule

Please respect the scheduled surf class times. Peniche Surf Camp is unable to provide exceptions or alternative schedules outside the regular surf class timetable.

Consecutive Days

Surf classes are scheduled on consecutive days starting from the first booked date unless otherwise agreed in advance by Peniche Surf Camp.If, after starting your surf course, you wish to skip a session, you must inform reception at least 24 hours in advance. Requests made with less notice cannot be guaranteed.

No-Show Policy

If you are scheduled for a surf class and do not attend, no refund, credit, or replacement lesson will be provided.

Weather and Ocean Conditions

Surfing is an outdoor activity that depends on weather and ocean conditions.In rare situations where conditions make surfing unsafe or impractical (including, but not limited to, flat conditions, excessive wave size, strong winds, fog, dangerous currents, or other environmental factors), Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to modify, postpone, relocate, or replace the activity.Refunds will not be provided in these circumstances. Whenever possible, an alternative surf-related activity, such as a theory lesson, video analysis session, or surf trip, may be offered.

Safety

Clients must strictly follow the instructions of their instructors at all times and comply with all safety guidelines.Any injury, discomfort, medical issue, or incident occurring during a lesson must be reported immediately to the instructor.Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to refuse participation or remove any participant from a lesson if their behaviour compromises their own safety, the safety of others, or the proper functioning of the class.

Alcohol and Drugs

For safety reasons, Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to refuse participation in surf lessons to any guest who appears to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that may impair judgement, coordination, or physical ability.No refund, credit, or replacement lesson will be provided in such circumstances.

Equipment

Surf equipment is included only during scheduled lesson times.If you wish to use surf equipment outside lesson hours or during weekends, separate rental charges will apply.You are responsible for the equipment provided during your lessons and must use it with reasonable care. Any loss or damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or failure to follow instructor guidelines may be charged accordingly.

Attendance and Preparation

Please arrive on time for all surf lessons.In addition to your personal belongings, please bring swimwear to wear underneath your wetsuit. Sun protection is strongly recommended.If you are attending two surf lessons in one day, we recommend bringing food and water to consume during the break between sessions.

Video Analysis

Video analysis sessions may be offered to students who book a minimum of 5 days of surf lessons (10 sessions).Video analysis sessions are subject to weather conditions, ocean conditions, instructor availability, operational requirements, and filming opportunities.Peniche Surf Camp does not guarantee that video analysis will be available during every surf course.If a video analysis session is scheduled and a student misses a surf lesson or does not attend the scheduled session, no replacement video analysis session will be provided.

Operational Changes

Peniche Surf Camp reserves the right to change instructors, lesson times, lesson locations, class group compositions, vehicles, equipment, and teaching methods whenever necessary due to operational requirements, weather conditions, tides, safety considerations, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Third-Party Providers

All surf lessons are organized and managed directly by Peniche Surf Camp. In certain circumstances, Peniche Surf Camp may collaborate with qualified instructors, coaches, transport providers, or other professional service providers when necessary to ensure the delivery of services.

Surf rental policy

All rental equipment is checked by PSC staff to insure proper working conditions.

Be aware that you are personally and financially responsible for the rented material during the whole rental period (from the moment of Pick up until Return of the items).

Rental rules

  • Passport required;
  • Rental hours: Winter from 8 h to 18 h. Summer from 8 h to 20 h;
  • The client must return all the equipment;
  • The material must be delivered everyday in good condition: wetsuit and surfboard washed and clean;
  • If you wish to keep the equipment at home you must pay a deposit 250 EUR which will be given back when you return the surf equipment in good condition!
